Adjusting and Alignment of Musculoskeletal Systems

Optimise the interaction of mechanical elements and physiological processes in your body so that you can become and remain healthy in the long term

Speaking of Biomechanics

Biomechanics – the term for describing what we adjust overall with the AtlasPROfilax® treatment. It's probably best explained as optimization of the interaction of mechanical elements and physiological processes in the body. The importance of the undisturbed functionality of the human locomotor system in harmony with physiological processes in the body cannot be overemphasized.

Clients often sense a better range of motion and feel a muscular relief in and around the neck area. We found that especially athletes - be it in the professional sector or especially in popular sports - often get the impression that their coordination and body balance is getting better after the atlas realignment. Of course, we know today that our method changes the center of gravity in the body and releases a constant muscle tension that was caused by compensating bad or not optimum posture.

The atlas is connected to several muscles and its malrotation can cause a lot of problems in our whole body. Putting our whole system back into the biomechanical wonder that it is, we‘ve experienced many positive developments. Although there can be no guarantee or forecast regarding the outcome and effects of applying our method, we recommend to have it done for everybody - for several reasons: it can improve your posture, it‘s preventative, it might help with the effectiveness of other treatments and therapies (osteopathy, chiropractics, physiotherapy etc.)...

...and last but not least, you‘ll never know until you try!

The atlas as part of the atlanto-occipital joint is a key position in the body. Therefore, it should be in balance.

However, the realignment of the first cervical vertebra is no miracle cure*. We’ve found especially that a collaboration with other specialists brings the best results in the long run. A lot of our practitioners are offering a wide range of additional and subsequent treatments in order to support the process initiated by our treatment as well as possible.

* Remark:

The AtlasPROfilax® method is not a substitute for medical diagnostics and treatment. Any current treatments must neither be interrupted nor terminated, also future treatments must not be postponed. The AtlasPROfilax® method is neither a diagnostic method nor a medical therapy, no diseases, no symptoms of diseases, no medical conditions and no sufferings are medicated.

Fascial Release

Fascia is a band or sheet of connective tissue, primarily collagen, beneath the skin that attaches, stabilizes, encloses, and separates muscles and other internal organs.[**] Fascia is classified by layer, as superficial fascia, deep fascia, and visceral or parietal fascia, or by its function and anatomical location.

Muscles and fascia are connected through chains throughout the whole body. Fascia is connective tissue that wraps the muscles. During the AtlasPROfilax® treatment and by applying vibro-pressure, the consistency of the fascia changes. Our method uses this natural mechanism as well as the limits of muscular performance capacity in order to unlock the atlas from its misaligned position while allowing the muscles to play their part in moving the atlas back into its optimum position and locking up again.

Fascia and Muscle Chains

Since several muscles are attached directly to the atlas, their part in connection with fascia is vital. Due to the above described muscle and fascia chains, their involvement in the realignment process also leads to effects in atlas-distant areas like e.g. pelvis, knee, feet etc. Moreover, fascia changes its viscosity during the application and supports the locking up process by returning to the previous but at the same time improven state within a very short time after the treatment. Imagine a muscle lock that's opened up and then locked again to support a sustainable condition.

Extra imaging studies have been performed on hundreds of patients to confirm that the tests and functional diagnosis we use correspond to C0-C1-C2 malposition and make the treatment protocols safe and accurate. This way, we also avoid unnecessary radiation exposure for clients.

The outstanding characteristics of the method are its safety and the effectiveness of its application - no matter how exactly the atlas is rotated or tilted. This happens for anatomic reasons and the involvement of the short neck muscles as target for the treatment as well as the muscle and fascia interaction.

The first cervical vertebra (atlas) is part of the atlanto-occipital joint (C0-C1). This is probably the best protected joint in the whole body, burried deep under four layers of muscles. So the muscles serve as protection for the joint, nerves, arteries, medula oblongata etc. In case there's an issue, they are also an "obstacle" in order to address this issue properly. That's why a lasting solution for the aligment of the atlas is only possible by including and working on these muscles.
